The image of the iceberg was the symbol that crossed the work of hall regional artists XII – southern zone, because it refers to the hidden items that have not been addressed within a curatorial proposal in the region and it is associated with repressed desire, unaffordable or unavailable to the official I, the desire for something else. Regional halls must respond to the lies and crossroads able to overwhelm the Western Oedipal look beyond the simple dialectic balancing instinctual forces.
The curatorial project “Foes Territories and Territories Southern Colombian country Visible in tne region,” arose from three main themes: Clusters, Convergence and Knots.
In clusters, the plurality was handled visual, building a diverse artistic map of the region, which allows the slide to hidden instances of art and the unveiling of unknown artistic potential, the intersection of trends and a whole lot of disinhibition Andean artistic unconscious with a questioning of the neocolonialism of the Western image. This led to conceive the popular tradition and not static, but as something that is constantly moving.
The re-knowledge arises from the encounter between traditional, popular and contemporary. In Convergence, it raised the deterritorialization of artistic thought and the opening of a differentially Hall, seeking to bring disparate crosses between divergent realms. Perhaps, for many, the Hall regional artists XII – Southern Zone was presented as an invitation to a wedding against Nature, but the assembly was made from the understanding of a certain process of acceptance of the discrepancies between contemponary, traditional, popular, mass-media and the hidden, ironic and cruel, some blocks become intertwined intensities themselves, that make the work des-act and let the testimony of the unspeakable, the strange, belonging to other people and unusual.
